Bonaventura Duda (born January 14, 1924) is a Croatian theologian, biblical scholar, a Franciscan and a corresponding member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. ==Early life and education== Bonaventura Duda was born as Roko Duda in the town of Rijeka on January 14, 1924. He spent his childhood is a small village of Karst on the island of Krk where he attended elementary school from 1929 to 1933. After finishing additional two years of civic school in Sušak, Duda attended Franciscan high school in Varaždin (1935-1944). He joined the Franciscan Order on August 14, 1941. He studied theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University in Zagreb from 1944-1950. During this period he become a musician, playing together with the former organist of the Franciscan church in Zagreb, fra Kamila Kolba. He was ordained priest on January 15, 1950, and in December 1952 achieved degree of licentiate in theology.
